The Stuntmen

02 Jun, 26 - 14 Jun, 26

Performances at Teatros del Canal

Even though this is a story of violence and pain -its main character embarks on a one-way journey to avenge the tragic death of his only child— the creators Nao Albet and Marcel Borràs nonetheless remain faithful to their usual theatrical style filled with play, humour and irony. This time, their first foray into the world of opera, they enlisted the collaboration of the composer Fernando Velázquez, known for writing a host of soundtracks. And that’s not trivial, because cinema plays a key role in Los Estunmen [The Stuntmen]. The piece features specialists who avail their bodies in the most dangerous scenes. Hyperbolic music in the process of deconstruction and testosterone-fuelled fights seek to unpack the chiaroscuros of one of the core figures in our tradition: the hero.
